MAASAI BEADED BOOKMARK beaded leather | 170 mm unfolded The unbeaded leather blade on the back of the bookmark is put between the pages of a book and the beaded blade is folded outside over the cover. Handcrafted bookmark produced by Maasai women organized in The Dupoto Women's Group in Isinya, Kenya. The group produces traditional beaded jew- ellery, coasters, baskets, dog collars and other handcrafts like the bookmark shown here which is adapted from the earrings the women wear. Marketing of the products is done by BEADS (Beads for Education) - an organisation co- founded by Debby Rooney to strengthen women's leadership in Kenya by organizing traditional work and education.
