on the back of the bookmarks it reads:
Cowardly Lion
Though lions are
supposed to be fearless, The Wizard of Oz's Lion was a literal scaredy
cat -
or so he thought. Bert Lahr, a seasoned burlesque comedian, played the
sweet, but guilt-ridden lion.
Dorothy and Toto
Judy Garland,
who starred as Dorothy, was sixteen when MGM's film, The Wizard of Oz,
was filmed.
Toto was played by a cairns terrier named Terry.
Scarecrow
The Wizard of
Oz's Scarecrow believed he had no intelligence. So, he set off for the
Emerald City with Dorothy
in search of a brain to replace the straw in his head. Ray Bolger's
costume took over an hour each morning
to apply and equally long to remove.
Tin Man
The Wizard of
Oz's Tin Man felt he had no heart. After a good oiling he set off with
Dorothy, Scarecrow and Toto.
Along the way he came to realize he had a heart all along.
